i have changed my way of thought where poker mainly tournaments are concerned recently after a little thinking ,at the end of last year my tournament results went down hill and i think i have figured out why, it was a number of things starting with i went from trying to maintain a disciplined routine towards tournaments where my main focus were 1-observe the table and pick up playing patterns, 2-try to make it past the bubble and 3-make it to the final table now if i got numbers 1 and 2 but missed number 3 i was happy could improve but mainly happy, now i went from those 3 steps to a thinking pattern of I HAVE TO WIN and in doing so my 3 steps got left behind and it all tumbled down on me, as well as that i had a set routine out to when and where i had games on and along the way they just built up and it went from a feeling of i want to play to i have got to play and the fun left the game and it started to have a feel of being a chore , i think i let frustration creep in ,so i ended up taking about 2 months off from live games and cut down on the number of online games and i think that has helped i feel my game has gotten a little better, i played 2 games this week making the final table, it felt like almost everything went right so i'm sticking with going back to my 3 steps and giving frustration some time off.

The Press of Atlantic City reported earlier this week on the splendid tale of local player Andy Amatrudo. Amatrudo recently celebrated his 100th birthday the same we he's spent much of the preceding 16 years, playing $1-5 stud at the Trump Taj Mahal in AC. Amatrudo lives in a senior citizens complex only a block from the Taj and has made the room his second home ever since it opened in the early '90s. The casino helped Amatrudo celebrate in style, with a birthday cake for the new centenarian, and the cards were dealt once again.
