this and that

a couple of weeks have past since the last post, work gets all busy this time of year but a few games snuck in during this time the games i got to play which were mainly with the AOPL have been good always fun and competitive,i like that in a game, thursday nights seem to have been the only night lately to get a game in so my goal of trying to get a minimum of 70 games with them for the year isn't looking good but i have 55 games up so might get 15 more in before year end.

only a couple of days til the final table to the wsop is on was cheering phil ivey from the get go but with the chip stacks the way they are could be a big ask for him,darvin moon or eric buchman might be a better pick but i'll still be cheering ivey.

i have a rough schedule worked out for what games i might be able to fit in around everything for the month i think it's mostly going to be sit n goes and ring games that won't take up much time hopefully at least 6 AOPL tourneys as well.

i have been thinking about this blog and think i have pigeon holed myself with just poker and forgetting the bets every now and again so think i might just add random things outside of the two from time to time but that's for next blog post.

i have 2 bets for the weekend in the EPL- blackburn @2.00 and a multi bet of man city into arsenal @1.77
short odds but only 2 i have had a look at fully yet .

well now i'm just going to sit back and relax and listen to the rain that's finally arrived as long as the hail doesn't hit us like it did around the place the other night think we might be in the safe spot from all the damage it seems to go around us most times.

have spent the last 3 weeks either sick or working so never felt up to posting any blogs got back into playing a couple of double up games and AOPL tournaments but not much else so october hasn't been real good to me, stayed away from any games today spent it with the family instead trying to find a balance between family, work, poker and friends poker gets sacrificed the majority of the time but the other 3 are more important then playing all the time.

starting to go back to some APL games every now and again at the rsl went back last week for the first for awhile and nothing really changed surprises me how people crack up over a free game of poker when they lose and the sunglasses everyone wears, why? , will never get that.

ended up spending the day out of the house and away from the computer screens for once and now feel so much fresher for it no tv today either got to be a record for us a recharge after a crappy 3 weeks is what was on order now to see if it's made a difference when i go back to play ,these last few months have been bad with poker, started the year off playing a heap of games and things just kept coming up and they drizzled off a bit, have kept away from ring games and mainly play double up sit n goes now see if i can slowly build a bank roll up here's hoping.

well it's almost time for the november 9 to come out and after so many months with the players waiting i have to go with phil ivey winning it no other reason then i think his got to be the best one sitting at that table come final time.

well back to the tables i go with some good hands my way well that's the plan anyway,

limited poker and finals betting

hey all back again only the one game played with the AOPL this week and no others til later today did a couple of nights at work and working on my bets so poker kind of took a back seat for awhile,so it's only a nice quick blog today,
what about that dust storm that came over us the other day up from sydney to up here in Queensland sheesh and as i sit here looking out the window i can see another one coming into town now.
anyway as the wind picks up here i'm gonna jump back on a couple of tables later this arvo and get back into it.

finals time in the football too (both codes) so that kind of got me away from the tables aswell will be taking a bet in the NRL grand final but AFL it is for now, don't really follow the AFL games can't really get into it and have basically no idea of the teams but looking at their stats i think it will be close and have gone with "Either Team Under 24.5 Points" @ 1.74 for my bet while in the english soccer i've taken a multi bet of man u/man city/liverpool @2.29
and races today i have race 6 in mornington horse 8 red buttons and race 7 in doomben horse 6 bazzooka.
hopefully i do better then last weeks picks having gotten 2 from 4.

cold chicken and poker

seems to be the way of late, cold bit of chicken or pizza and sit up play poker mainly been doing some freerolls and not buy ins this week if i'm at a table with players i've played before i find myself calling some hands i normally wouldn't just to see if they have the hand or not bad habit i know but i've gotten a glimpse of how they play or if they play a little different cause it's a freeroll game it started unintentionally but it turned into a learning tool or sorts (probably not a good one though)

loving the AOPL thursday night games now being different games instead of 'hold em' all the time kind of get a bit bored after awhile doing the same game constantly i needed that bit of mix up and it gave me an extra game to play with them since i work some nights .

well not much more besides work and annoying the family has been happening went to a fun BBQ last weekend with some friends i haven't seen in a bit don't get to hang out with everyone as much as i use too anymore so catching up is always fun,
oh a big congrats to my friend graham and mellissa on the arrival of their new baby boy the other morning too.

i have started the bets back up now getting a couple going again stopped for awhile there i seemed to be not following my own strategy using my head and not my heart this time and it seems to be working a bit better for me.
so i'm going to write them up from time to time so you can follow whether i win or lose, fly or nose dive with my picks wish me luck.

this weekend i've gone with a couple of sports bets, leaving the horses for a couple of weeks going to keep them in a seperate account so i'll have an account for sports and one for the races.

well i might go enjoy the rest of the afternoon and end the evening watching the football and with a couple of double or nothing games on pokerhost or doyles ,afternoon sleep before hand doesn't sound bad either,

this and that

for this month i'm going to improve my focus on poker mainly with myself to start and the cards will follow (at least i hope so)

i've gone with a laugh it off policy whenever a bad beat hits i've noticed when i do my vibe still stays the same and i can go back to concentrating on the game and not go on tilt like i would if i let it get to me.
a second thing i'm trying to do is walk away from the game when i'm tired this seems hard for me as i want to play more then i need to sleep and i always play bad when i do,so learning to drag myself away and not sign up for a game when i get like that.
and lastly if i have things on my mind or distractions i'm doing the same and just not play.


it all seems to be working so far i can feel my game improving slightly a few hiccups here and there but overall an improvement.

recently the universal pub where we played some of our APL games at went and burnt down so another venue was needed but luckily another was quickly found (had 8 others to choice from though) but the uni always seemed the friendliest even had a few back room games going on there for a while they were fun, it's going to be missed by the poker players in town here for sure.

not playing in any more online forum challenge games not that i could to start with got invited a few times now and each time it's let me sign up only for when the time the game starts i get a your not eligible to play thing pop up, why if i'm not eligible not tell me when i go to sign up instead of telling me when the game starts at 6 in the morning huh?
